Body Language
気が付くと秋です。私を見上げる犬は、悲しい眼をしています。 犬同士の間では見られない、悲しい眼です。日光猿芝居の猿、動物園の象も悲しい眼で我々を見ます。馬や牛の眼に恐怖を読むのは、私だけでしょか。 我々の記憶パターンには人の悲しい眼が入っているはずです。目つきの表現は、動物共通なのかも知れません。
羽根模様が鮮やかな鳥の求婚ダンス、魚の婚姻色。 人間世界の、流行・ファッション・化粧、殆んどそっくりなのに驚かされます。昆虫は、フェロモンという化学物質で引き合い、 鯨は音声でコミュニケーションをとっていることは、解明されています。早朝ひとしきりの賑やかな小鳥の囀り、夕暮れの鴉、何を話しているのか知りたいものです。 恐竜達の朝は賑やかだったのでしょうか。　
高度に言葉を発達させた我々は、聴覚によらない、視覚と触覚をたよりの Body Language を軽視していますが、 実は常に巧みに使い分けています。親愛と敵意、協調と対立、距離をおいても一瞬で感知します。背中で、指先で微妙な感情を語り、会話の陰影を深めます。 Body Language は、誤解されません。
言葉の通じない怖れのある同士は体を触れ合う挨拶に心を込めます。イタリアなどの国では、不満・反対をオナラの擬音で表明します。 更に脱いでオシリを出すポーズが加わることもあります。
会議で腕を組むひとは、不賛成で一言云いたいひとです。 眼をつむっているひとは、次の発言の権威付けをしているのです。本当にうたた寝をしていない限りはです。
Body Language
The Autumn has come. A man would face me without showing his eyes. A dog looks up at me with his eyes always wide opened. There I find the deep sadness. When they meet each other their eyes never show such sadness. Elephants, apes, giraffes and many other animals in the zoo have also sad eyes. In the eyes of cows and horses I see shadow of fears.  Am I alone seeing the sadness in dogs’ eyes and fears in the eyes of cows and horses?
Why do I read the sadness or fears in their eyes? The registered patterns in my brain are the humans’. Must be. Do all creatures have the one and same expression? Some birds do courtship dances with brightly colored and boldly patterned feathers. Nuptial color of salmon is well known.
It is so closely similar or exactly same to our world, mode, fashion, and make-ups. Insects attract each other using chemicals, pheromone. Whales communicate with sonic or ultra sonic signals. Birds chat early in the morning. Crows caw in the evening. I wish I understand their conversations. What are their subjects? Were dinosaurs so chatty?
We have little regard for the body languages. We believe and trust too much our language. If you carefully observe yourself, you shall find you using the body languages often and effectively. You can sense if he is friendly or not, from a quite distance away. Your posture or a simple movement of fingers can send a lot more deep and delicate meanings than words.
People living in arias where coexisting many languages practice body language to avoid being misunderstood. We might meet rather wild postures and movements. Such countries as Italy, people express their dissatisfactions or disagreement by imitating sound of fart sometimes with posture.
At a meeting, if you see a person crossing ones arms on the chest, this person is your opponent. A person closing eyes tries to add extra authority and dignity to his opinion unless taking a nap.
