| 連帯・団結 街は、歳末・クリスマス大売出しで賑わっています。 テレビは、華やかなイルミネーション点灯、セレブの婚礼、鶏インフルエンザ、大震災で困難に打ちひしがれている貧しい人々、とニュースを流しています。 一家揃って夕食のテーブルを囲み、ご馳走に舌鼓を打ちつつそれを眺めている図は、我が国の標準的な家族団欒像でしょう。 ご馳走の箸を止め、考え込む姿はまず考えられませんね。 もし其処にゴキブリの大群のニュースが続いたら、TV局には、苦情・叱責の電話が殺到することでしょうに。 クリスマスは、チョコレートの季節です。チョコレートが美味しくなりました。 特に美味しいことで有名なブランド・国々があります。 およそチョコレートと関係のなさそうな国々です。 チョコレートの味を楽しみ薀蓄を傾ける人々は、それがアフリカの虐げられた人々の涙と汗の痕跡と気付いているでしょうか。 今日、アフリカの人々は、自らの言語を失い、いわゆる宗主国の言語による呪縛から逃れるこができません。 世界には、素晴らしい街並、豪華・壮麗な歴史的建造物群があります。 それらを礼賛・賞賛し、解説する学者・美術書・ガイドブックは数多くあります。 とてつもなく巨額な富が集まっていたに違いありません。 これら街並は、ほぼ例外なく、大帝国が存在した記念碑であり、他国支配の記念碑であり、そして、支配下民族の屈辱・苦痛の物証です。 豪華・絢爛・巨大建築の建造は、進行中の現実でもあります。 何を記念し、何の物証なのでしょう。 地球・人類・皆家族。連帯・団結。 なかなか一筋縄では、行かないようです。 「メリークリスマス 良いお年を」
Now, again the season of Christmas Sale has come. TV broadcasts brilliant street-illuminations, marriages of the celebrities, the pandemic of the avian influenza, and the poor people suffering after the natural catastrophes. A whole family watching this news while having supper together is a standard scene in Japan. It is very difficult to imagine some body or some family stops to eat in sympathy with the suffering people. But if TV sends swarms of cockroaches, a lot of complaints and scolding would swoop down on the station. We often eat chocolate at Christmas. The quality of chocolate is getting better. There are well known brands. These are from the nations, which have nothing to do with the chocolate produce, cacao plantation lands, today. Do epicureans realize the delicate flavors and bitterness of the chocolate are the vestiges from tears and sweat of Africans? Today, Africans have lost their own languages. They cannot get free from their so-called suzerain powers. There are many beautiful streets and magnificent buildings in the world. There are many scholars, architectural historians, art books and guidebooks, which praise and adore those buildings. It is nearly out of my imagination to measure the amount of the wealth that was collected and materialized at one spot. They are really the monuments. The monuments record the existence of the empires or the supremacy over the other people. The monuments record the humiliation and the pain of the ruled. The constructions of beautiful streets and magnificent buildings are continuing today. But for whom are they? "One globe, one family." "Solidarity and unity." Still we have a long way to go. "Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!" |
