温泉旅行
茨城県の五浦温泉に行った。
鉄道で東京から常磐線・水戸を通って北に２００ｋｍである。私は、新幹線に乗ることが多く、在来線の特急は久しぶりだった。記憶の在来線とは大違い。静かで揺れない。上野を出て最初に止まったのは水戸なのにも驚いた。
東日本大震災の被害地を縦断したことになる。あの地震は２３年前・２０１１/０３/１１に発生し、震度７・マグニチュード９という、地震国日本でも歴史上最大級のものだったが、車窓からの街並み・田園風景には被害の面影は全く観えなかった。
日本は温泉が多い。私には、温泉は何といっても露天風呂である。日本流の入浴は、全裸・水着を付けないので、男女別々なのが残念。五浦温泉は太平洋に正対して。太平洋海面から３０m位高い、絶壁上の台地にある。写真をご覧ください。

Hot spring
I had a short trip to a hot spring “Istuura Onsen” in Ibaragi prefecture. It is by the railway, “Jouban line” via Mito 200 km up north. I often use the Shinkansen. It was long time ago to be in a JR common express train. The new express train was completely different from the one I remembered. Very calm and doesn’t shake. Also, I was surprised after Ueno, the first stop was Mito.
So, I crossed the area stricken by the Great East Japan Earthquake, happened 23 years ago, 2011/03/11. The earthquake had seismic intensity 7, magnitude 9. One of the worst in Japanese history. However, from the train, I could not see the damage after it.
There are many hot springs in Japan. I enjoy the open-air bath in nature. We take bath naked in Japan, so open-air but two separated bathes, it is pity. Itsuura Onsen is just facing to the Pacific Ocean, built on a cliff 30m high from the sea. You can see my pictures.
