バス旅行

日帰りのバス旅行で「袋田の滝」に行った。袋田の滝は、日本三名瀑
の一つとされる。残りの二つは、日光「華厳の滝」と熊野「那智の滝」で、ちなみに滝の高さは、袋田の滝・１２０ｍ。華厳の滝・９７ｍ。那智の滝・１３３ｍである。バスの集合解散場所は東京駅正面、丸ビル前だった。これも、私がこのバス観光をしようと思った理由かも知れない。新宿バスタよりも近いし、何となく馴染み深いのだ。
７時出発のバスに間に合う早朝の東京駅前は静かで清々しかった。そこに来たのは、５０人乗り程の車内トイレの無い、今回の旅行に合わせた感じのバスであった。私の席は、満席キャンセル待ちでの参加のせいか最後部中央で、前は中央通路、見通しの良い場所だった。

袋田の滝は、東京から北へ筑波山を過ぎて、さらに北へ計１８０ｋｍのところにある。バスで寄り道をしながら片道４時間かかる。寄り道は、主にパーキングエリアとサービスステーションでトイレ休憩だ。と言うのも、４０歳位の女性二人組以外、乗客４０人程の大多数は７０歳前後の高齢者だったからだ。私の席からは通路の両側に二人づつ見渡せた。皆さん大変行儀よく小声で話し、お菓子を食べ、お煎餅や蜜柑の匂いが漂っていた。ただ、６０歳代の一組は、止まることなく話し、バス走行中にしきりに立ち上がり、頭上の荷物棚から出し入れをしていた。不思議なもので、何か起こりそうだなと思っていると、彼女らの頭上に防寒コートが落下した。

帰りには、逆光の夕陽にシルエットとなった富士山が美しかった。肝心の袋田の滝は・・・HPの写真をご覧下さい。


A bus trip

I had a sightseeing trip to Fukuroda waterfall. Fukuroda waterfall is one of the famous three waterfalls in Japan. The other two waterfalls are Kegon waterfall in Nikko and Nachi waterfall in Kumano. By the way, the height of the waterfalls are, Fukuroda: 120m, Kegon: 97m and Nachi: 133m. The bus trip started in front of Tokyo central station, Marunouchi Building. Perhaps it might be a reason that I took the trip since the gathering point was close to my place and familiar to me. The early morning in front of Tokyo central station was quiet and cool. The bus was a capacity of 50 pers. without WC, just fitting for the trip. My seat was far end and center of the car. Probably because I joined the trip as a waiting list person. I had a nice space and view.
To Fukuroda waterfall, the bus had to pass Tsukuba mountain and farther north 180 km. It took 4 hours by bus with some stops. The stops were at parking areas and service stations for visiting WC since most of the passengers were elder persons around 70 years old. Only two of us were some 40 years old.I could see most of them. They were neat and proper, whispering and taking sweets or fruits. The scent of sweets and fruits was peaceful. However, there was a couple of ladies, some 60 years old, chatting endlessly and taking their things up and down from the shelf on their heads even when the bus was running. I could sense some happnins might come. A thick overcoat fell from their shelf.
