二ヶ国語で文を書くのは、語学上の面倒さ以上に、そのテーマの選択が難しい。
日本の政治・政権・選挙・政治家達にまつわる話題などは、諸外国の人々の興味を引かないし、ローマ字で表記された総理大臣の名前など、容貌・言行が密着連想されない上に、覚えきれるものではない。　これは、私たちが、お隣りの国々とか、さらに諸外国の様子を聞くときでも、ご同様である。　それではと、世界共通のテーマを選べば、平板的で至らない解説文になりがちとなる。
一方、世界中に愛読者がいるという本がある。たとえば、アガサ・クリスティーとか、エド・マクベインの作品などは、作品の数が多く、大昔から、老若男女、実に広い層に、いつまでも人気が高い。　言うまでもなく、文章は文字で書かれ、文字は抽象的であり、読者は、おのおの各自の連想に導かれ、固有の記憶に参照して当てはめて、納得し、理解した積もりになる。　だから、実際に読者ひとり独りに想像され楽しまれているシーンは、それぞれ、かなり個人差があるはずだ。　それでも、多数の愛読者がいるのは、筋書き・プロットが素晴らしく、場面ひとつひとつが鮮やかで強烈に描かれているからである。　いうなれば、文芸としてというよりも、劇画として楽しまれているわけだ。
世界中で愛読されているということは、きっと、われわれの感じる、正邪・善悪・幸・不幸には、普遍的で世界共有の規範があるからだろう。
愛・平等・人権、こういう言葉に対応し参照される実体は、文化のパターンによって一様・単一ではないし、もちろん、われわれの一人ひとりも、各自の人生体験、生活環境を通して得た、自分だけの定義と実体があると思っている。
現行の世界は国に別けられ、区切られ、国ごとに、強引にまとめられているが、世界には、一国内でも複数の習慣・慣行・常識が独立した文化を築いている場合が多い。　当然である。
そもそも、自国独自の文化という不自然な定義を、世界中に押し付けようという国がいくつも在り、政治的あるいは信仰的指導者達がいる。　彼らは、先ず劇画を楽しみ、読書の喜びを知り、自らの実生活に照らし合わせてみたら・・・・・。
Picture book (Manga)
Even a short essay to write in two languages is not so easy. 　The choice of its theme is sensitive, much more difficult than the linguistic problems.　 Japanese politically sick situation, miserable quality of Japanese politicians and so often replaced prime ministers, are not interesting for most of the people in the world. Nobody can read right and remember the names of Japanese prime ministers written in alphabet.　 Vise versa for Japanese. And if you choose a theme common in the world your essay will be plain and miss the spice.
The books by Agatha Christie or Ed McBain are many and loved by innumerous people all over the world; for long time, by the young and by the old.　 A sentence consists of words. Words are abstract. Readers are lead by their own association from the words to their own reference images based on their own memory. Therefore each reader actually reads their own version of the book.　 But still good books are globally popular.　 One and main reasons are because good books are constructed with exciting plots and with strong vivid scenes.　 In a way people enjoy a book not as literature but as a picture book.
There are many globally popular books.　 Probably we all have similar basic moral code on “right or wrong, good and evil”.
The actual concrete images of the words such as “Love”, “Equality” and “Human right” are individual after the patterns of the culture. 　And personally each of us believes ones own definitions on these words since we all have individual life, nobody else has had a same life.
Our world to day is divided into nations.　 The divisions are often the results of rather recently passed bloody grotesque history. There are consequently many nations with plural customs, plural cultures.
There are nations, there are political readers, believing their own cultures are the only one and absolute.　 Perhaps these leaders should read and enjoy the globally popular “Manga”.
