Short short with English summary
| 放射能の恐怖 ６月１１日で、大震災から４ヶ月目に入る。ふと気が付いたのだが、６月１１日は、母の誕生日だった。 父は、６月１０日で、昔は、時の記念日とされていた。父が産まれたのは、１９０１年６月１０日。昭和天皇は、同じ１９０１年４月２９日。 私には、１９００年代の出来事と父親の年齢、彼の体験とを重ね合わせると、日本の現代史を実感し理解する上でとても役に立つ。 １９００年代には、日露戦争、第一次世界大戦、大恐慌、関東大震災、日中戦争、第二次世界大戦・太平洋戦争、原爆投下・敗戦、よくも休みなく天災、人災が続いたものだ。 ちなみに、関東大震災は１９２３年、敗戦は１９４５年、父は２２歳・４４歳だったことになる。 私自身の体験と、彼の体験が時に平行し、時に重なりあうのは、学童集団疎開からだ。 今でも、戦争は世界のあちらこちらで続いている。 景気の狂ったような大変動はご存知の通り。 そして、今回の大天災と大人災。 私は、今更のように、自分が無知無能であることに、あきれている。 しかし、知らないことが沢山あるということは、好奇心・知的満足？の対象が数多いということで、たのしみが沢山あるとも言える。 不思議なのは、学者・研究者・専門家の人々の、謎解き・説明が、常に後からでてくる。 天災・人災・経済カタストロフから我々を護るのに一向に役立ったことがない。 戦争は止まない。不景気は突然直撃する。 もし、私の無知無能が、私の受けた教育にあるのだったら、小・中・高・大学教育、延べ１６年間何を学んできたのか。 もし、情報の周知に欠けているのなら、花形産業の一つとして、ジャーナリズムは、毎日毎日、なにを垂れ流し、踊っているのか。 今日、原子力発電への関心が高い。 当然である。世界は、１）原発発展・続行、２）停止・終結、３）継続・様子見の、３グループに分かれている。 実状としての人口では、第一グループに属する国々が圧倒的だ。 電力は、生活向上にも、産業生産発展にも実に使いやすく有効なエネルギーだ。 この電力を享受する人々には、大変な格差があることを示している。 この格差問題をどう考えるか。 どういう手法で取り組むか。 自国内のエネルギー問題解決のみに眼を向けている間は、地球は放射能の恐怖から逃れられまい。 A terror The earthquake and the tsunami were on March 11th. Soon it’s June 11th, the fourth day of the month of the catastrophe. Now I remember that June the 11th was my mother’s birthday and my father was born in June the 10th 1901. Emperor Showa was born in 1901 04 29. When I put the dates of the modern history of Japan together with my father’s personal history and his ages at those days, I can simulate and understand those day’s situations of Japan well and clearly. In the 1900’s, Japan had gone through Russo-Japanese War, World War I, The Great Depression, Kanto Earthquake in 1923, Sino-Japanese War II, and World War II which ended with Hiroshima-Nagasaki Bombings. At Kanto Earthquake my father was 22 years old and at the end of World War II, he was 44 years old. My common memory with my father began under the war when I was evacuated from Tokyo, school evacuation in the summer 1944 which continued to November 1945 for 15 months. Today we are still having the wars. The economic catastrophes attack us without warnings as we all know. And we are in the midst of the natural and the man-made catastrophes. I am disgusted with myself for my ignorance and incompetence for them. But there might be some positive aspect; there are so many subjects I don’t know means at the same time I have a lot of possibilities and chances to enjoy studying them. It is very strange that there are such many professors and respected scholars who are considered as specialists but their explanations come always after the catastrophes. They have never warned and protected us from the disasters. Wars come one after another, the economic catastrophes mercilessly hit us hard. If my ignorance and incompetence are because of the education I have had, what have I learned for 16 years? If they are for the lack of information, what does journalism send us every day? Today, all of us have extremely high interest in the nuclear power generator system. No wonder. The world is divided into three groups: 1) Pro nuclear system, 2) Anti, 3) Freeze and wait. If you count the number of the population of each group, the group 1 nation’s people are the overwhelming majority. Electricity is very effective and easy to handle for getting a better life and for a higher industrial productivity. The majority of the people in the world are not receiving enough the benevolence of electricity. There is a great gap between so called “the Developing” and “the Advanced”. We must face to this fact and take a clear and definitive stance on it. So long trying to solve only the domestic energy supply problem, we shall never be freed from the terror of the radioactivity. |
