平和な春
日本では、国の機関である気象庁が桜の開花予想をします。　染井吉野という、元はと言えば一本の新種が、明治以降あっという間に全土を覆い、気候条件通りに一斉に開花するから出来ることでしょう。　なんとなく、場違いな気がしますが。
早過ぎた開花宣言・お花見、もう、躑躅が満開です。　梅・こぶし・桜・つつじ・藤・花菖蒲と、東京近辺は、お正月から丁度良い間を取って画面が切り替わります。　チョット花札のようですね。　ということは、東北・北海道では、花盛りがすごい速さで切り替わるのでしょうね。
東京のお花見は、終わりました。　国を挙げてお花見に浮かれる文化は、イースター・ハロウイン・クリスマス・春節といった、人間社会のしがらみに関わる行事を別にすると、世界で唯一、日本独特です。　歴史上有名なお花見は、太閤秀吉・1594年の吉野の花見ですね。　1594年というと、朝鮮半島で戦いを進めていた（1592〜98）真っ只中です。　朝鮮の人々にとって、秀吉が大悪人なのは、無理もありません。　地図参照。　世界史的には、ヨーロッパではトプカプ宮殿で有名なオスマン帝国が地中海周辺諸国を支配していました。　　その圧力に押し出されたように、スペイン・ポルトガルが中南米大陸を切り取っていた時代です。　もちろん、日本との接触は既に始まっていました。鉄砲伝来は1543年。
４月５日、丁度、東京の桜の満開に合せるように北朝鮮が人工衛星ロケットの実験発射をしました。　「ノドン」、「テポドン」という名前は、米国の探査・スパイ衛星が観測した実験施設の地名だそうで、北鮮ではもっと立派な、国威発揚の名前が付いているのだそうですね。　日本国土の頭を越えて、というプライドにかかわること、また、結構確率の高い事故発生の場合には、落下物着弾の危険から、ジャーナリズム・政治家・評論家は、判読不可能な写真・事実説明なしの貧弱なデータを使って大変騒ぎ立てました。　しかし、つつじが満開になったら、すっかり忘れ去られたようです。　過去の例としては、自国から遥か離れた南太平洋の、平和な人々の住む、平和な島々で、原爆・水爆の実験を数え切れない回数で行った国々がありますね。
素晴らしいカメラ、大きな望遠レンズ、一生懸命桜を狙って構えて、平和です。　構えているのがロケット砲だったら。
Peaceful spring
In Japan, the Meteorological Agency sends out the prognosis of cherry blossoms over Japan. Today, most of cherry trees are one sort “Somei Yoshino”. This sort is a product of the artificial crossing that can be multiplied by the cloning therefore Japan is covered by one and same cherry tree so that the weather observation and forecast are directly related to the cherry blossoms’ forecasts. I would rather appreciate if those forecasts were made by the local people.
The cherry blossom season in Tokyo is over. I think it is only the Japanese people to enjoy cherry blossoms and feast under cherry blossoms as a national event/festival. Easter, Halloween, Xmas and Chinese New Year are also very nation wide but these are motivated by the social structure not just by being simply happy with blossoms. Japanese have had this culture long. There was a historically well documented cherry blossoms feast in 1594 at Yoshino held by “Taiko Hideyoshi”. It was just in the middle of a war, 1592-98, Hideyosi led trying to conquer Korea. No wonder Korean people consider Hideyoshi as a devilish person. See fig. This period in Europe, the Ottoman Empire, its Topikapi Sarayi is famous, ruled most of the Mediterranean area. Portuguese and Spanish were pressed out to the west of the Atlantic by the Ottoman’s pressure. The Central and South America were chopped to pieces. Portuguese with guns as souvenirs reached Japan in 1543.
2009 04 05, as if well-timed to Tokyo’s cherry blossoms, North Korea sent their satellite-sending rocket. The trajectory was crossing over our head. There was a risk that the debris or the rocket itself might hit us. It irritated and hurt Japanese pride. Many politicians, journalists and reviewers of Japan made a great fuss referring to a sheet of illegible photo picture and to very thin scientific fact. Today, rhododendron flowers are in full bloom, every thing is forgotten.
In fact there were such cases. The peaceful south pacific islands with peaceful people were repeatedly used for the experimental sites of the atomic-bomb and H-bomb explosions.
So many people aim cherry blossoms with beautiful fine cameras with big expensive telephoto lenses. Very peaceful. Very lucky they do not aim with bazookas.
