行楽シーズン
お花見に始まり、日本の行楽シーズンは、春の嵐、突風に悩まされ、雹・春雷に驚かされながら、梅雨まで続きます。観光産業は、何時の間にか巨大産業の一つになりました。 　幸運にも先進国家に属する人々にとって、行楽は、余暇の過ごし方のトップ、基本パターンといえましょう。　先進国に仲間入りをしたことの確認を求めるかのように、ヨーロッパ系の観光地には、ロシア人観光客が、アジア系の観光地には、中国人団体観光客の姿が際立って増えました。
見物をすることは、好奇心を満たすことです。好奇心を持つことは、我々動物の生き残りを支える根源的本能、食欲を充たし・生殖行動を行う上で、不可欠な準備行動です。 　好奇心を抱き、伺い・覗き・嗅ぎ・触れてみる、これは、生命力の原点、あるいは、生命力そのもそなのかもしれません。
余暇を過ごす、行楽するといっても、お国柄があるようです。　日本人の場合、見物先の多い、とにかく、盛り沢山の名所に立ち寄ることがプログラムの最重要事項です。　　バスが止まらないで、通り過ぎ、走行中の車窓からの一瞥も、車中観光と称し、プログラムの立派なカテゴリーの一つになっています。移動が多く、飛行機を利用することが多いと、ホテル・空港・待ち時間・が占める割合のやたらに多いケースが珍しくありません。
ヨーロッパの人々は、滞在型といわれる過ごし方をします。　一週間・二週間と同じホテルに滞在して、自分の気に入った過ごし方をします。　一つの寺院に何日・何度も訪ねたり、同じ海岸・入り江で毎日泳いだり、同じ木陰・同じデッキチェアーで一日読書をしたり。
欧米では昔から盛んで、最近は、日本からの参加者も急速に増加している、大型客船クルージングは、観光見物型と滞在型を巧みに組み合わせたスタイルですね。
中国人と、米国人も、日本型大忙し観光が好きなようです。　　滞在型の人々は、この大忙し・通過型を、しばしば戯画化し皮肉なコメントをします。しかし、良く考えてみると、滞在型とは、日常の決まった生活パターンを忘れて過ごそうということです。それならば、なにも遠いところに行かず、手近なホテル、自宅の一室でもできそうです。　「余暇を過ごす」という言葉で一括りにしているけれども、実は、好奇心を満たすのか、日常生活から離れるのか、全く異なった目的の行動、それぞれOKということでしょう。
常に生き生きと、好奇心持っていることは、生きている証明です。折角の旅行が、忙しすぎて、目がうつろ、注意が散漫になり、何処に行ったのか、何処の写真なのか、判らなくなってしまっては、困ります。　　　　　　　　　　　

The excursions
The Japanese excursion season begins with the cherry blossoms. The season continues for three months until the rain season, sometimes being interrupted by the spring storm with squalls, thunder and hail. The tourism has become a big industry. For those lucky people who belong to the so-called developed countries, to spend their holidays abroad is rather common. The numbers of Russian tourists and Chinese tourists have increased significantly as if verifying the development of those nations.
To enjoy sightseeing means to fulfill our curiosity. To be curious is an inevitable preparatory act to accomplish our instinct for survival i.e. to fill the appetite and the will of reproduction. Having curiosity, to peep. to look, to smell and to touch, these are the first steps for generating our life, or perhaps the life itself. 　
The manners to spend holidays are rather different after each nationality. Japanese way of the excursion is to visit places as many as possible. A glance from a bus window is accepted as an established category of sightseeing.
Europians like staying in one place than moving around. They might stay at one place for a week or longer, visiting the same temple several times, swimming and reading books on the same beach.
The cruising could be a good alternative to combine visiting and staying.
Chinese and Americans also like Japanese style busy tours visiting many places. Europeans used to give comments and to caricaturize the busy moving around group-tour people. But, if you like to stay to spend days free from your daily life, staying somewhere at a neighborhood's hotel or at your sleeping room upstairs can do it. "To spend holidays" can be both to fulfill your curiosity and to live free from your daily life.
For us it is essential to be alert and to be curious. Your curiosity must not be lost under the chasing tour. Isn't it pity and shameful you cannot locate where you were and where your digital pictures were from?
